AUSTIN - Representative Pete P. Gallego was made aware about a grant program released today by the Department of Education. This program offers grants that are awarded to applicants that demonstrate improving student achievement and attainment to expand the implementation of, investment in, and innovative practices that pertain to the following:

Improving student growth, closing achievement gaps, decrease dropout rates, increasing high school graduation rates, and increase college enrollment.  

 

"This is a great opportunity and one that should be taken advantage of" Gallego said. "These are all goals that I know schools in the district are striving for, but to have the opportunity to be given extra money for achieving your goals is a win-win situation" There is limited money and applicants only have a sixty (60) day period to develop their applications.
