POTENTIAL WILDFIRE THREAT FOR WEST TEXAS
AUSTIN - West Texas has been issued a Potential Wildfire Threat from the Texas Forest Service (TFS). MAP. Representative Gallego wants the folks of West Texas to be aware, but not to panic, "There is no need to run from your homes. The situation is being closely monitored by the folks at the forest service" Gallego said. Texas Forest Service has mobilized crews and equipment from across the state that are standing by to assist the region if need be. CLICK READ MORE The reason for the warning issued by TFS earlier today is because of a system moving through the area the next couple of days. Existing dry conditions along with high winds expected tomorrow and low humidity with a few small fires already in the area increase the potential for wildfires.
