A 40 bed unit, called the Bachelors Quarters Unit, was opened to help house relief officers coming from El Paso. The city of Fort Stockton was operating at 50-55% on top of a housing shortages to house the the relief officers. State Representative Pete P. Gallego, along with Pecos County Judge Joe Schuster, and Project Director Doug May celebrated the completion of unit as an example how governement at different level can work together to a common goal.
