Three West Texas cities were approved for grants from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB). The City of Sabinal received $3,560,000 to repair significant problems with the wastewater treatment plant. The City of Presidio received $12,255,000 in order to replace their wastewater treatment facility. Lastly, the City of Valentine is installing its first wastewater collection and treatment system with a $2,500,000 grant. All the grants from the TWDB were possible because of the money available from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 through the clean Water State Revolving Fund-Disadvantaged Community Program.
