Rep. Pete P. Gallego

Pearl Harbor Day

AUSTIN- Today marks the 68th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The events that took place on December 7, 1941, thrust our country into WWII and changed the world as we know it. The tragic events that took place on this day almost 70 years ago off the coast of Hawaii cost over 2,300 Americans their lives and injured almost 1,200 more.

“Please take some time to reflect on the events at Pearl Harbor and the honorable men and women who were hurt or killed defending our country," Gallego said. “Our world changed on that, the 'date which will live in infamy,' and I want to thank all of our veterans and current service men and women who are continuing to fight so that we may maintain our freedom.”
