AUSTIN, TX- This week the Department of Rural Affairs awarded Colonia Construction Fund Grants to counties in District 74 totaling more than $900,000.
The grants are as follows:
$454,000 to Brewster County for construction in Study Butte and Terlingua colonia areas. Contractors will provide first-time sewer service to 50 households and will install 2 septic tanks in accordance with the sewer service.
$460,300 to Presidio County for construction in Pueblo Nuevo and Loma Pelona colonia areas. Contractors will provide first-time water and sewer service to a total of 56 households in this area.
These grants will tremendously help the quality of life of families in these areas and I'm very proud for the counties in receiving this money to achieve it.
